Planning a baby shower or your child's birthday with Paperless Post? Along with bringing family and friends together, it's an opportunity to start building toward your child's future.

Paperless Post lets you link to external registries. Greatest Gift is one option designed for financial gifts for children, helping families share goals like education, savings, and first investments.

Here's how to add cash gifts to Paperless Post: Create a free Greatest Gift registry, copy its link, and open your Paperless Post Card or Flyer. Select Add blocks → Registry Block, paste the link, and save your invitation. You can also use a Link Block for a direct button. No special integration is needed.

How to Add Greatest Gift to Your Paperless Post Invitation

Step 1: Create Your Greatest Gift Registry

Start by creating a free registry on Greatest Gift. Sign up, add your child, and personalize their gifting page with a photo and financial goals, such as college savings, investments, or a future experience.

You don't need a 529 plan or investment account to get started. You can choose a supported financial destination when you're ready to redeem the gifts.

Step 2: Copy Your Greatest Gift Registry Link

Once your child's registry is ready, open their gifting page and use the sharing option to copy its URL. That's the link you'll add to Paperless Post.

Step 3: Open Your Paperless Post Invitation

Head to Paperless Post and create or edit your baby shower or birthday invitation. You can add registry links to both Cards and Flyers.

On desktop: Find Add blocks in the left menu of your invitation's Create/Edit page.

On mobile: Look for Add blocks near the bottom of the screen.

For Cards: You may need to scroll below the invitation design to find the event details.

Step 4: Add a Registry Block

Choose Registry Block. Paperless Post lets you customize the registry heading, add a description, and include links to your registries.

For example:

Heading: Gifts for Baby's Future

Description: "We're starting to save for our little one's future! If you'd like to be part of it, we've created a Greatest Gift registry."

Registry link: Paste your child's Greatest Gift URL, including https://.

If you have another registry, select Add Registry to include it. Paperless Post supports up to 10 registry links in a single Registry Block, so you can share Greatest Gift alongside Amazon, Babylist, Target, or other registries. Use the up and down arrows to rearrange the links.

For screenshots of the setup, see Paperless Post's official Registry Block guide.

Step 5: Save and Share Your Invitation

Save your changes and preview the invitation to make sure the link works. Then send your invitation through Paperless Post. Guests can select your Greatest Gift registry from the event details and contribute toward your child's future.

Other Ways to Share Greatest Gift on Paperless Post

Use a Link Block for a Direct Button

If you're not sharing multiple registries, a Link Block is a simple alternative:

1. Open your invitation's Create/Edit page and select Add blocks, then Links.

2. Add a heading, such as "A Gift for Emma's Future."

3. Paste your Greatest Gift registry URL into the URL field.

4. Customize the button text, such as Contribute to Emma's Future, and add an optional note.

5. Save your changes.

Guests will see a clickable button that opens your child's gifting page. Paperless Post's Link Block guide shows how this works.

What About the Gifts Block?

Paperless Post also offers a Gifts Block, which lets you create a wishlist in its editor. It's handy for kids' birthdays when you want to suggest books, toys, or other presents. For a direct Greatest Gift link, we recommend using the Registry Block or Link Block.

Baby Showers: Start Building Their Future Early

Alongside the essentials on your baby registry, you can include a Greatest Gift baby fund for family and friends who'd like to contribute toward your baby's future. Whether you're thinking about education, savings, or investments, a baby shower can be a lovely moment to get started.

For more ideas on how to share your plans, see our guide to asking for money gifts at a baby shower.

First Birthdays and Beyond

Your child's first, second, and third birthdays are opportunities to start or continue building toward their future. Add a Greatest Gift birthday registry to your Paperless Post invitation to give loved ones an easy way to participate in those goals.

You can reuse your child's registry for future birthdays and holidays, updating their goals as they grow.

Keep the Momentum Going With GG+

A birthday or baby shower can be just the beginning. With GG+, Greatest Gift's optional membership, you can help that initial support grow into something more. Invite a grandparent to match gifts for the celebration, giving everyone's contributions an opportunity to go further. Or let family and friends set up Monthly Gifts to keep supporting your child's future throughout the year. It's a way to turn one special occasion into ongoing momentum.

What Happens When Someone Gives Through Your Invitation?

Guests who click your Greatest Gift link see your child's personalized gifting page, including their photo and financial goals. They can choose an amount and add a personal greeting or photo without creating an account for a one-time gift. You can view the gifts and messages in Greatest Gift, then redeem the funds to a supported savings, investment, or 529 account when you're ready.

What to Write on Your Paperless Post Invitation

You don't need a long explanation. Here are a few short examples.

For a Baby Shower

"We're so excited to welcome our little one! Along with our baby registry, we've set up a Greatest Gift page to start saving for baby's future. We'd love for you to be part of it!"

For a First Birthday

"We can't believe our little one is turning ONE! We've created a Greatest Gift page for anyone who'd like to help us start building savings for all the wonderful things ahead."

For a Second or Third Birthday

"We're excited to celebrate another year! We've included [Name]'s Greatest Gift page for family and friends who'd like to contribute toward their future."
